ARCHIVE / What is CPAN?
CPAN, generally pronounced see·pan, stands for the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network and is accessible at http://cpan.org. CPAN is essentially an old, vast repository for Perl's language, programs and modules. If you're looking for Perl code to help you program some specific software behavior and can't find it in CPAN, chances are that you didn't look hard enough.
